THE ART OF CREATIVE WRITING

I hope your readers are doing great. It's been a long time since I have written. You might be thinking suddenly why such a topic? to say truly I don't really know but since I am an artist myself so I find this topic to come at me out of the box. And as it has come so I thought of sharing it with you.

Let us start by understanding the meaning of creative writing. According to Wikipedia creative writing is any writing that goes outside the bounds of normal, professional, journalistic, academic, or technical forms of literature, typically identified by an emphasis on narrative craft, character development, and the use of literary tropes or with various traditions of poetry or poetics.

I know this might not be much understandable for a normal person. So, in simple words, it's the art of making up things and conveying them in the form of either poem or storytelling.

It is the art of expressing one's feelings and ideas in the most imaginative way possible. Creative writing is an art indeed. How? well just like a painter creates a picture in their mind and then depicts it on paper or canvas, the idea doesn't just pop up in their mind, but rather they take time in thinking deep, they brainstorm for ideas, and thus slowly and steadily they develop something which can be painted, in the similar manner a creative writer creates an image which can be later expressed as storytelling or in some other forms.

At this point there comes a question in the mind of the readers as to what is the benefit of creative writing?

Power of imagination

This is one of the most important aspects that come in handy. Unlike the superhero powers of any fictional character, this is the power that is possessed by a creative writer and which keeps on growing each day. The creative writer pushes their imagination which in turn helps them to create out of the box contents. This also allows the writer a fair space for artistic exploration.

Communication skills

Since creative writing allows one to have ideas and characters out of their imagination, thus they have to come up with various characters of their own choice and they get these choices by communicating with various people in day to day life. Thus creating a scope of out of box creations and also increasing the communication skill. When writers understand other's perspectives better, they're able to communicate better. They can figure out how to explain and discuss topics from various perspectives.

Health is wealth

This is the last but not the least important benefit of creative writing. Studies have revealed that creative writing has lead to better mental, emotional, and physical health. Thus, the saying goes as " A healthy mind is the home for creation".

Understanding the benefits might help it a bit. But, then again why? What is its importance? everyday creative writer experiences events that are new to them. They learn new words, which help them build their vocabulary. In doing so, these new experiences help them to develop a creative and curious mind. These new experiences could be the beginning of ideas which the writer could develop into stories or creative writing. When a creative writer begins to write their ideas down, completing the story develops a range of important life skills. Using writing as a way, the writer demonstrates their creative side, helps their ability to focus, improve their dedication and commitment. Writing also helps to improve the organization. By plotting out a story-line, a creative writer can develop an organization and create drama or surprises in their stories. While researching I found out a platform known as 'Story Wars' where creative writers from various places with amazing ideas come to express their ideas. But, the only twist is that for the writer's chapter to be on the official page, it needs to be voted in.

After all this blabbering it is quite clear what creative writing is and its benefits and importance.

But, still, a question remains is, can anyone do creative writing? Well, the answer is quite simple. Yes, undoubtedly as long as one knows the necessary skills to become a successful creative writer. It is all about imagination and the use of language in a creative way and in proper places. And like I say, hard work with a lot of imagination and a bit of communication and staying healthy won't stop anyone from being a great creative writer.

I hope it's understandable now so what is the wait grab a pen and paper and drive deep in your imagination to start writing. Who knows you might be the next famous writer of our country.
