With the COVID-19 in action, the work and life of millions have crumbled. Many have lost their jobs and many of their lives. Coronavirus cases have surged, so have the number of companies asking their employees to work from home. But, is really our population well coped up with the daily technological advancements. The answer is “NO”. It’s not unreasonable to think that many of the employees who have been asked to work from home due to the coronavirus may have little to no experience doing so.
Despite all the inexperience, working from home has become the new
normal and is likely to stay for years to come. Where on one side this
change has affected many companies, small or big, by reducing costs as
revenues have taken a hit, on the other hand, it has also benefited a lot of
freelancers, working mothers, mothers who are expecting, or anyone who
would prefer to work out of the comfort at the ease of their homes. The
interesting fact of this idea is that instead of a lacking experience of the employees, there is a constant growth of work precision.

saw a growth of calls by their employees while they are working from home. The
employees were attending 12 extra calls during their shifts. Looking upon the
pandemic many multinational companies along with fortune 500 companies are
trying to change their way of traditional work hours to work from home even
after the pandemic diminishes. Tens of thousands of employees from various
companies within India and
around the world are preferring
work from home.
Why the sudden change of
thinking? Well researches
have shown that the employees who are to work from home have a higher
creativity, low rest periods, and intense balance rates, thus increasing the
initial profit of the company.
Numerous articles will provide with numerous benefits of
working at home, but I can think of three main benefits which are above all:
Better work-life schedule
Since this idea is the latest trend, thus provided with
ancient working hours isn’t possible for the employers. Thus, the idea of
flexible work hours, where employers can start and end their day as they choose.
This gives great control over their own private life.
Less stress
Since the employees are working from home, they don’t have
a load of getting to the office on time. This intake releases a lot of pressure.
If they are not stressed then this, in turn, increases their performance. It has
been found out that 60% of the employees worldwide prefer to work from home.
Staying home really helps them to focus on what really matters.
Savings
As they are employed at home so they don’t actually need to
travel, resulting in savings. The
savings aren’t just for employees; even companies will see significant
long-term cost savings.
Though the pandemic may have been the
reason for the loss of numerous jobs and the idea for work from home, it’s
far from the only reason to work from home. This pandemic has already changed
the structure of the global workspace beyond recognition. However, this change also
provides us a unique opportunity to discover new ways of working and utilizing
technology with the continuous minimization of time along with the increase of
initial profit, which can have a positive impact long after we overcome the current
situation. And who knows this idea might turn out to be the future path ahead.
